What do Blanks on the Sellers' Disclosure Form Mean?
They mean trouble. Do not take another step until the actual answer is provided by the seller. If you are still interested in purchasing the house and the seller will not or does not answer a specific item on the Seller's Disclosure Notice, then you should dilgently and ernestly pursue that item yourself.
I have been a defense attorney and on the inside of matters like this. After they get caught, most sellers will claim it was just an innocent mistake. In practice and the real world, there is almost always a related issue.
These blanks have shown up for previous termite damage; located in the 100 year flood plain; no previous flooding; and because the buyer did not notice the blanks and because the real estate agents wanted the blanks to be ignored, the sale went through. Don't make that mistake.
